Graduate students

Positions are available for Master and Ph.D. students who are interested in studying aquatic microbial ecology and evolution. Each student will be well financially supported and is encouraged to lead their own projects based on their interests under current funds.

 

Research assistant (Temporary)

ONE position of temporary research assistant is available. I am seeking for a collaborative and innovative candidate who is interested in aquatic microbial ecology and evolution. A Chinese candidate with at least bachelor degree is expected, and will help in field sampling, laboratory experiments, and project organization. Salary will be commensurate with the temporary researcher assistant position according to NIGLAS. Funding is available for a fixed period (e.g., 2-5 years), with additional support available for conference travel and fieldwork.

 

Post Doc researcher

ONE position of Post Doc researcher is available for 1-5 years. I am seeking for collaborative and innovative candidates who are interested in aquatic microbial ecology and evolution, especially for mountain regions. Research backgrounds can be flexible, ranging from population ecology, community ecology, microbial ecology, environmental microbiology, molecular ecology, theory ecology, ecological modelling, biomathematics or bioinformatics. The candidate should have at least one peer-reviewed publication. Salary will be commensurate with the Post Doc position according to NIGLAS (>€1500/month) or to grants/fellowships (~€3000/month), and it can be higher based on performance. The successful candidate will be well financially supported in exploring independent projects based on his/her interests, and is also encouraged to bid for new available funds.

 

Assistant professor

ONE position of assistant professor is available in 2018. I am seeking for a collaborative and innovative candidate who is interested in aquatic microbial ecology and evolution. The candidate should have a Ph.D. degree and have at least two peer-reviewed publications. Ph.D. is needed at the time of appointment. There would be an interview presentation for this position before the end of 2017. Salary and pensions will be commensurate with the assistant professor position according to NIGLAS.
